Recognising Clarity in Reporting in Uncertain Times

In the review of finalists for the Report of the Year two exceptional reports rose to the top.  Each demonstrated outstanding clarity, transparency and impact, and each set a benchmark for high quality reporting.  When it came to determining a single winner  Awards Committee members were firmly split equally between the two reports.  It was decided to accept both as Joint Winners of the Report of the Year.

Report of the Year

Audit Office of New South Wales

"The Audit Office report exemplifies independence, integrity and a deep sense of public responsibility. It explains how the Office reports on audit findings with clarity and purpose, making the findings accessible to both specialists and the broader community. This strengthens confidence in governance and reinforces the need for transparency. What really stands out is that the Audit Office is able to turn technical assurance work into a compelling narrative that highlights risks, opportunities for improvement, and the value of strong stewardship across government entities. "
