This Award was introduced in 1997 as the Environmental Reporting Award and was changed to the Sustainability Reporting Award in 2005 to recognise the broader focus of sustainability reporting. In 2019, this Award was changed to a graduated award with Gold, Silver, and Bronze Awards to benchmark the quality of sustainability reporting, and a Sustainability Report of the Year was introduced. The winner of this Award is selected from the reports that achieve a Gold Award for Sustainability Reporting.

The judges said. . .  “A very well-presented report in which understanding is enhanced by the consistent framing of issues, section by section in terms of materiality, strategic focus, and clear performance targets. Reporting of both positive and negative performance outcomes is transparent.’
