Congratulations to

Superannuation
Winner of the 2024 ARA Report of the Year
Guardians of New Zealand Superannuation is a Crown entity that was created to manage and administer the New Zealand Superannuation Fund, a large pool of government investments (currently worth more than NZ$65 billion) established to help pay the future cost of providing universal superannuation. The Guardians invest Government contributions, and the returns from its investments, to grow the size of the Fund for the long term.
The Guardians have long been concerned to report openly and transparently to their stakeholders about the purpose of the fund and their performance in managing it to gain and maintain stakeholders’ trust. The Guardians have set a very high standard in annual reporting for many years. Their achievements include eleven consecutive ARA Gold Awards to date (and the ARA Chair’s Commendation); winning the Best of Sector Award in the Financial Services Sector each year since that Award was introduced; and winning the ARA Report of the Year Award in 2021, 2022 and again in 2024.
Congratulations to Guardians of New Zealand Superannuation.
ARA Director, Tulip Penney, Chair of the ARA Awards Committee commented:
“The Guardians annual report is always a pleasure to adjudicate. From cover to cover, it is a joy to read. It is clearly written to fully inform stakeholders about the purpose and performance of the NZ Superannuation Fund. Use of Maori language in key sections demonstrates a strong commitment to all stakeholders. The Guardians recognise best practice investing requires proper consideration of the risks and benefits from environmental, social and governance (ESG) considerations and have embedded a strong climate change and sustainability focus in their investment strategies. Good case studies show they understand and value the benefits of diversity in staff.”
